Day 1: Airport – Negombo

  • Welcome to Sri Lanka, the pearl of the Indian Ocean! In keeping with Sri Lankan tradition, all of us here at Jetwing Travels will like to extend to you our heartiest “Ayubowan!” (Traditional Sri Lankan greeting wishing long life to the other) 
  • On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport you will be met by your Chauffeur guide & transferred to your hotel in Negombo.
  • Transfer Time (Airport to Negombo): Approximately 35 minutes.
  • Check in to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

Day 2: Negombo – Dambulla – Minneriya - Dambulla

  • Pick up time 08:30 am this day after breakfast you will proceed to Dambulla.
  • Transfer Time (Negombo to Dambulla): Approx. 03 ½ hours.
  • Check into the hotel and relax till afternoon before heading to Minneriya National park.
  • Transfer Time (Hotel to Minneriya National park): Approx. 15 minutes.
  • Pick up time 02:00 pm The extent of the Minneriya National Park is approximately 8,889 hectares. Dry zone plant and animal species are common. The elephants are a highlight of the Park. Approximately 160 species of birds, 9 amphibians, 25 reptile species, 26 fish species and more than 78 butterfly species can also be found here. There are also rare bamboo trees in this park which is unique to Minneriya National Park. 
  • Return back to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

Day 3: Dambulla – Sigiriya – Hiriwaduna - Dambulla

  • Pick up at 07:30 am this day after an early breakfast you will be taken to climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
  • Transfer Time (Hotel to Sigiriya Rock Fortress): Approx. 30 minutes.
  • One of Sri Lanka’s major attractions, the Sigiriya Rock Fortress was built by King Kashyapa (477-495 AD) for the purpose of protecting him from his rivals. An UNSECO World Heritage listed site, also known as the “Fortress in the Sky”. The climb up to the top of the fortress doesn’t only offer the reward of breathtaking views but there is so much to discover during your climb to the top. 
  • Thereafter you will be takne to experince Hiriwaduna Village to experince a local village and enjoy an authentic Sri Lankan Lunch.
  • Transfer Time (Sigiriya Rock Fortress to Hiriwaduna): Approx. 30 minutes.
  • Here you will witness the day to day activities done in a Sri Lankan village as well as their transportation methods in the early dates.
  • First you will be taken into the village where you will have a catamaran ride in the lake, thereafter you will be taken to the village house in a tuk tuk where you will get along with the family members and learn about preparing an authentic Sri Lankan lunch.
  • Return back to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

Day 4: Dambulla - Kandy

  • Pick up at 08:30 am after breakfast proceed to Kandy, on your way you will visit Dambulla Cave temple.
  • Transfer Time (Dambulla to Kandy) Approx. 02 ½ hours.
  • Dambulla cave temple is part of the Golden Triangle of Sri Lanka and is encrusted into a magnificently large rock. It sits more than 160m above the surrounding land and spans for more than 1.5 km around the base. Also known as the “Golden Temple” it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991. This ancient complex was initially established in 3rd Century BC and is truly a wonder as it is the largest and best preserved cave temples in Sri Lanka. The cave temples are home to numerous religious and cultural paintings and sculptures. 
  • Continue your journey to Kandy, check into the hotel and relax till evening before heading to Kandy Temple of the Tooth Relic.
  • Transfer Time (Hotel to Kandy Temple of the Tooth Relic): Approx. 25 minutes.
  • Pick up at 05:00 pm The Temple of Tooth Relic (“Dalada Maligawa” as known to the locals) is located in Kandy. This sacred temple is also home to the palm-leaf transcripts and its history dates back to 1687. This stunning piece of architecture is instantly recognised by its octagonal shape and golden roof. Although you are not able to view the actual tooth itself, the casket within which it is held is displayed twice a day. 
  • Thereafter you will witness Cultural Dance show.
  • Return back to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

Day 5: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (Approx. 04 hours’ journey)

  • Pick up time 08:00 am you will get on board to the local train (01st class tickets or 02nd tickets) which is how the British used to travel during the colonial times in the late 1800’s. You will have reserved seats for you and witness the beautiful ride along forests, villages, Waterfalls and tea estates.
  • Train journey from Kandy station to Nanu Oya station (Nuwara Eliya)
  • Train leaves Kandy by 08:47am and reach Nanu Oya station by 12:40 pm.
  • Approx. 04 hours’ journey
  • Arrive to Nanu Oya station, your chauffer guide will pick you from the station and take you to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya, on your way you will visit a Tea Factory & Tea Plantation and explore Nuwara Eliya.
  • Nuwara Eliya the ‘Little England’ of Sri Lanka, is set against beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, Waterfalls and Tea Plantations. Also known as the ‘City of Lights', Nuwara Eliya was the favourite hill station of the British who tried to re-create Nuwara Eliya into a typical English town. 
  • Check in to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

Day 6: Nuwara Eliya – Udawalawe - Tissamaharama

  • Pick up at 08:00 am after breakfast you will proceed to Tissamaharama, on your way you will visit Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home. 
  • Transfer Time (Nuwara Eliya to Tissamaharama via Udawalawe): Approx. 05 hours.
  • The Elephant Transit Home helps to care for injured elephants from all over Sri Lanka. Supported by the Born Free Foundation, the complex is a halfway house for orphaned elephants. After rehabilitation, the elephants are released back into the wild, many into the Uda Walawe National Park.
  • *there will be a feeding time at 02:30pm*
  • Continue your journey to Tissamaharama, check in to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

Day 7: Tissamaharama – Yala - Tissamaharama

  • Pick up at 05:30 am this day early morning you will be taken for Yala National park jeep safari. you will get a packed breakfast from the hotel*
  • Transfer Time (Hotel to Yala National park): Approx. 30 minutes.
  • Embark on an adventure of a lifetime with a Wildlife Jeep Safari at the Yala National Park! Yala National Park is the largest National Park in Sri Lanka. It is located approximately 24km Northeast of Tissamaharama. Yala is the best location to sight and photograph the rare and remarkable leopards. Other highlights of Yala include the herd of wild elephants, bears, wild boars, buffalos, deer, crocodiles and many species of birds. The vegetation ranges from open parkland to dense jungle. There are also an abundance of water supply for animals and birds ranging from waterholes, streams, small lakes to lagoons.
  • Enjoy an evening safari as well.
  • Return back to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

Day 8: Tissamaharama - Galle

  • Pick up at 08:30 am, this day after breakfast you will proceed to Galle.
  • Transfer Time (Tissamaharama to Galle): Approx. 02 ½ hours.
  • Check into the hotel and relax for few hours before explore Galle Fort.
  • Galle fort, the UNESCO World Heritage site of Galle, with its imposing 16th century Dutch fort, where you have a guided walking tour. Best seen on foot, the Fort is a living museum, its history dating back to 1588. Visiting the old District Judge’s house surrounded by frangipani trees, the cricket fields, temple and mosque. Finish at its iconic lighthouse on the ramparts, where locals take sunset strolls and fly kites every evening.
  • Return back to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

Day 9: Galle – Unawatuna - Galle

  • Pick up at 08:30 am, this day after breakfast you will proceed to Galle.
  • Transfer Time (Tissamaharama to Galle): Approx. 02 ½ hours.
  • Check into the hotel and relax for few hours before explore Galle Fort.

  • Pick up time at 09:30 am this day after leisurely breakfast proceed to Negombo.
  • Transfer Time (Galle to Negombo): Approx. 02 ½ hours.
  • Check in to the hotel and relax for the rest of your day enjoying hotel facilities.

Day 11: Negombo – Airport 

  • Having reached at the end of your program, you will be transferred to the Bandaranaike International Airport from where you will continue onwards to your next destination.
  • Transfer Time (Negombo to Airport): Approximately 35 minutes.
